Pat Benatar, born on January 10th, 1953 as Patricia Andrzejewski, was raised in Long Island, NY. Her singing career really started off in the 70’s. She was spotted at Catch a Rising Star, a club in the New York City area, and was signed by Chrysalis Records.
A band formed soon after and her debut album, In The Heat of the Night, was a smash hit. She formed a nice solid fan base and delivered her next album, Crimes of Passion, which once again brought forth more singles and amazing vocals.
As she continued her career she decided to try something different. She made a blues album called True Love in 1991. It failed to make any sure success for her so she went back to her true sound.
Some of her best known singles were “I Need A Lover”, “Hit Me With Your Best Shot”, “Love is a Battlefield.”, “Shadows of the night”, and “We Belong”.
She released a few more albums through the 90’s and began work on some sitcoms. In 2003 she returned to the studio and began recording. She released her first LP since 1997. Her rock vocals will always be remembered, as she was one of the most successful female rock vocalists of the 80’s and 90’s.
